Urbanful is a project that has come out of Smart Growth America. This piece captures how Sherpa's fitting in to the competitive rideshare landscape.
To Lyft, Uber, and Sidecar Drivers: Welcome to Sherpa was posted by CFED.org, a national organization aimed at helping low and moderate income households improve their financial security. In June, CFED launched an open call for solutions to discover and highlight strategies that address the key financial challenges facing microbusiness owners, and Sherpa was selected as one of the top solutions.

Los Angeles moves ahead of San Francisco for most active drivers
Happy Labor Day! Here are the Sherpa Active City Rankings for the week ending August 31st. The rankings are based on the number of active Sherpa users in each city.
Los Angeles has moved a couple drivers ahead of San Francisco for the #1 spot. Also, Orange County has moved from 16th to 13th. And, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Washington DC have unlocked CityMetrics!

Last week was another busy week for news between Lyft, Uber, and Sidecar. Particularly between Lyft and Uber, when Uber's growth tactics we're leaked. Neil Irwin with The Upshot at the New York Times wrote, "Uber's Secret Agents: When Poaching Becomes Unethical". The Rideshare Guy continued this conversation yesterday in his weekly news roundup.
As great commentary on both Lyft and Uber as services, yesterday Farhad Manjoo from the New York Times published his piece, Uber and Lyft Have Become Indistinguishable Commodities.
On the Lyft front, several new product and referral changes were announced this week, including heat maps in select Lyft cities. You can see all of the new changes via The Rideshare Dashboard.
Lastly, it was announced Thursday that Uber is expanding in 24 more US cities. Kim Ribbans from Ride. Share. News has covered this and the rest of the latest rideshare news.

Recently, we have been quietly rolling out many new features on Sherpa. One of the major ones we just made available is the Sherpa Expense Tracker.
Requested by our drivers (Thanks Chase and all), we added this tracker yesterday to help you to track expenses like gas, oil, car washes, phone bills, marketing materials, etc. You can then see how your expenses compare to your total earnings. Give it a try and share your thoughts!
