This week we're giving you the illustrated answer, thanks to our incredible meeting of Mike last week in Menlo Park. Mike actively works for 6 services at the same time. Meet Mike:

Mike has his devices mounted for 6 services: Uber, Lyft, Sidecar, DoorDash, Postmates, and FLUC (Food Lovers United Co-op).
Is this really necessary? According to Mike, it is. He "never wants to wait more that 10 minutes for a ping", and while ridesharing can often keep him busy enough there are 'shoulder' times of demand when he just wants to "keep busy".
One of Mike's examples: Rush-hour is ending so Mike gets less requests from Lyft, Uber, and Sidecar, and is waiting longer between rides. It's starting to be dinner time, and delivery demand increases. Enter Postmates, DoorDash, and FLUC apps.
Here's another example from Mike: "I'll see that I'm dropping off a passenger in 5 minutes and I'll get a Postmates ping. I'll accept, knowing I have 30 minutes to get there and it's only a few miles to the restaurant."
