Hustling with 6 driving apps at once
Yes, it's a real possibility
At SherpaShare, we love helping drivers maximize their income and find driving efficiency. This mantra has lead many people to ask us, "How many services can you actually work for at once" and "How can I find my most efficient driving?"
This week we're giving you the illustrated answer, thanks to our incredible meeting of Mike last week in Menlo Park. Mike actively works for 6 services at the same time. Meet Mike:

Mike has his devices mounted for 6 services: Uber, Lyft, Sidecar, DoorDash, Postmates, and FLUC (Food Lovers United Co-op).
Is this really necessary? According to Mike, it is. He "never wants to wait more that 10 minutes for a ping", and while ridesharing can often keep him busy enough there are 'shoulder' times of demand when he just wants to "keep busy".
One of Mike's examples: Rush-hour is ending so Mike gets less requests from Lyft, Uber, and Sidecar, and is waiting longer between rides. It's starting to be dinner time, and delivery demand increases. Enter Postmates, DoorDash, and FLUC apps.
Here's another example from Mike: "I'll see that I'm dropping off a passenger in 5 minutes and I'll get a Postmates ping. I'll accept, knowing I have 30 minutes to get there and it's only a few miles to the restaurant."
And one of the main reasons Mike chose these 6? "SherpaShare supports all 6! My operations may seem complex, but knowing that all of the earnings are being integrated on my SherpaShare Dashboard is incredible."

Quarterly Taxes Due Today + Info
The good news: It's easier than you'd expect! Here are the simply steps.
Step 1: Figure out how much to pay
Use the 1040ES worksheet here, provided by the IRS. On page 7, you'll find the 2014 Estimated Tax Worksheet
Fill out the 2014 Estimated Tax Worksheet. When you calculate Line 17 at the bottom, that will be your quarterly owed amount. Write that number down!
Step 2: Pay by 1/15/2015
One of the easiest ways to pay is by EFTPS, or the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System, however, when you enroll in the program it takes 7 days to receive a PIN by mail. Next quarter!
To pay immediately (aka by this Thursday) there are other options, including Direct Pay.
On the Direct Pay page, click Pay Now, choose Estimated Taxes for 2014. You'll be prompted to verify your information, and then add in what you're paying, according to the 1040ES form.
Here's what the IRS says about who needs to pay estimated tax:
"Who Must Pay Estimated Tax"
"If you are filing as a sole proprietor, partner, S corporation shareholder, and/or a self-employed individual, you generally have to make estimated tax payments if you expect to owe tax of $1,000 or more when you file your return."
Note: According to the IRS, if you're filing your complete taxes by 2/1/2015, you do not need to make this payment.

Uber Price Cuts
How will this affect drivers?
This might be good news. According to Uber, the move lowers the average price per trip but increases the average number of trips you make per hour.
In fact, in these 48 cities Uber guarantees you'll do better: "We’re so confident in the earnings gains drivers will see that we’re making earnings guarantees in every city where we’re cutting prices. "
Monitor how the price cuts affect your earnings
On the new SherpaShare dashboard simply check the time window you want to compare and compare either by earnings or by earnings per hour (if you're tracking hours). You can also compare to your city average.
Here's the example Uber gives from Chicago:
These prices became in affect today in 48 cities around the US.
