What is Sherpa Private?

Sherpa Private allows you to book an experienced and highly-rated UberX, Lyft, or Sidecar driver ahead of time. With Sherpa Private you can book upcoming trips in advance, and have the peace of mind that your travel arrangements are all set and you’ll have a top-notch driver waiting for you.

Currently Sherpa Private is in top secret beta in the Bay Area serving destinations to SFO, SJC, and OAK airports.


Why should I use Sherpa Private?

You should use Sherpa Private if: you prefer a predictable fare; you prefer certainty; you prefer more experienced and trustful drivers; you have special luggage requirements you want sorted out; you prefer peace of mind while planning your stressful trip.

How does Sherpa Private work?

Quickly Schedule your trip and add in your contact and payment information. We will match a driver for your trip and notify you once we do. On the scheduled day and time, our driver will be there to pick you up! That is it.

How does payment work?

When you book a trip, we will ask for your payment information. We will hold till the driver is assigned and the ride is completed successfully. We will send you receipt after the charge.

Sherpa currently supports thousands of drivers to help them maximize their independent contractor lifestyle. For Sherpa Private, we have handpicked several of the most experienced and highly-rated drivers. These drivers have been driving for UberX, Lyft, and Sidecar for a long time and have an awesome driving track record. In short, they know this business better than anyone.


How does Sherpa decide the price?

Our rate is based on the lowest price range of all available options.


Change/Cancellation Policies

You can change or cancel your trip up to 24 hours in advance with no penalties. Click the cancel link in your trip detail email.

If you need to make a change within 24 hours of your scheduled trip, we will do our best to accommodate your request. We understand sometimes flight schedules change at the last minute, and our drivers want to be able to accommodate you. However, if for some reason our drivers can not meet your change request, we will issue you a refund minus a $5 cancellation fee.

If you need to make a cancellation within 24 hours of your scheduled trip, we will issue you a refund minus a $5 cancellation fee.
